A-KEEP Welcomes New AmeriCorps Members
MONTGOMERY, Alabama - The Alabama -Korea Education and Economic Partnership (A-KEEP) is pleased to welcome three new AmeriCorps members and two returning members to the team! These AmeriCorps members have committed to one year of service through the VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) program to increase manpower, bring an end to poverty in the Montgomery area and ensure the sustainability of the nonprofit.
The new members are Brittany Payne, Community Outreach Coordinator and Archivist, Derrick Mcmeans, Public Relations and Marketing Specialist and Jihwa Restad, Events Coordinator and Office Manager. Returning members are Christa Springs, Online Media Specialist and Program Evaluator and Tiki Armstrong, Grant Writer.
Mcmeans is most excited about the experiences and skills he’ll gain as a VISTA with A-KEEP and says, “Knowing that I will be an instrumental part of A-KEEP’s growth, will forward me even more confidence in my abilities towards future endeavors. I will enjoy every moment of my time as Vista, push through difficulties and continue moving towards excellence.”
A-KEEP proudly became an AmeriCorps sponsor in 2018. AmeriCorps VISTA is a federal program administered through the Corporation for National & Community Service (CNCS), VISTA attracts more than 7,000 Americans a year to engage in anti-poverty activities in communities throughout the nation.
