Cultural differences between migrant individuals and families are largely ignored by native citizens of Alabama. This disregard stems from ignorance and miscommunication, leading to disconnect within communities and poor quality of life by lack of diversified opportunities. Such disconnect is evident in schools, workplaces and the community at large.

A-KEEP is working bridge these divisions in our community for education, economic, and cultural equity for all.

If I had not become involved with this partnership with A-KEEP, I would have no perspective nor comprehension of the true scope or implication of cultural misunderstandings and how they impact the harmonious working relationship in a multi-cultural employee environment, impact career courses in schools and workforce training development.
— Dr. Tommy Bice, former State Superintendent of Alabama
